We love the seasons. Because each one brings its own colors. Its scents. Its stories. And its very special ingredients.

That’s why our specialty weeks don’t follow just any trends, but rather the rhythm of nature: the first wild garlic in the forest; game from our local woods; and goose, as autumn slowly winds down.

For us, “Cook the Gart’l” means exactly that: taking a look at what’s available right now. Being patient. Harvesting when the time is right. And using those ingredients to create dishes that taste like the season.

Lamb & Wild Garlic Around Easter

Lamb & Wild Garlic Around Easter

Around Easter

At some point, it's there—that scent. Of damp forest floor. Of fresh greenery. Of spring.

Around Easter, wild garlic sprouts in the forests around Kirchberg. Paired with the Bauer family’s lamb, it creates one of those combinations we look forward to all over again every year. Because that’s just what spring tastes like.

Wildlife Weeks in September & October

Wildlife Weeks in September & October

Mid-September through late October

Morning fog hangs over the meadows. The forests glow in shades of gold and copper. And outside, it’s slowly getting quieter.

Now is the season for game. A time for rich flavors. For mushrooms, herbs, and berries. For dishes that tell the story of the forest and the meadow. And of our appreciation for what nature gives us.

Goose Days in November

Goose Days in November

Early November

The last leaves are falling. The days are getting shorter. It’s getting warm inside. It’s time for traditions we love to repeat.

Our Goose Days have been a staple of Molzbachhof for many years. Featuring organic pasture-raised geese from the Grundtner family in Kirchschlag. With plenty of time. With great care. And with the wonderful feeling of being exactly where you want to be.

Indulgence Meets a Slower Pace

Molzbachhof

Some come for the tavern. Others come for the culinary delights. Many stay longer—because the Molzbachhof is Molzbachhof than just a place for good food.

At the tavern , we celebrate Austrian tavern culture. With regional products. Seasonal dishes. Authentic cuisine. And the kind of hospitality that makes people want to linger at the table a little longer. At Gaumenkitzel , we follow our “Cook the Gart’l” philosophy. Creative menus are crafted from the region’s treasures. Modern Austrian gourmet cuisine. Fine dining with character. Moments of indulgence that linger in your memory. As a member of Jeunes Restaurateurs (JRE) Austria, we’re part of a network of chefs who share a passion for quality, regional ingredients, and authentic culinary artistry.

And all around? The tranquility of the forest. Nature. Time. Our family-run wellness and nature hotel is a retreat in the heart of the Wechsel region. Solid-wood rooms made from “moon wood.” The “Paradiesgart’l.” The natural swimming pond. The Adults-Only Spa. A place of power for natural wellness, sustainable relaxation, and a break from everyday life.

Our tip: Stay overnight. Combine your culinary experience with a vacation at the Molzbachhof Nature and Wellness Hotel. That way, a special evening turns into a little getaway. And your anticipation turns into a whole weekend.

Frequently Asked Questions About the Culinary Events

Do I need to make a reservation for the events?

We recommend making your reservation well in advance. Many of our culinary events thrive on their special atmosphere, on having plenty of time, and on providing enough space for good conversation and enjoyable moments. That’s why seating is often limited.

Can I combine the event with a stay at the Naturhotel?

That might even be the best way to enjoy the evening.

After that last glass of wine, you don't have to worry about the trip home. Spend a few more hours in the garden. Stay the night at the nature hotel. Start the morning slowly—with breakfast, the tranquility of the forest, and time for yourself.

What makes the culinary events at the Molzbachhof ?

Maybe it’s the combination of many little things. Special people. Great products. A table set with care. Music in the summer air. Conversations that last longer than planned. And that wonderful feeling of being exactly where you want to be right now.
