Reduces our climate by 939.74 tons of CO² per year
Not only in the kitchen do we use products from our region, but also in the generation of electricity and heat. Wood from the surrounding forests is processed into wood chips and converted into green electricity and heat - a completely natural way to improve theCO2 balance
The nature hotel has its own energy center, which generates green electricity and local heating from the richness of the forests around the Kirchberg region. A wood gas cogeneration plant and biomass heating system were built in 2016.
Wood chips are used to produce wood gas, which is then used to generate electricity. The heat generated during electricity production covers the entire heating requirements of the Molzbachhof and is also supplied to the nearby Sachsenbrunn secondary school.
This saves around 150,000 liters of heating oil and 20,000 liters of liquid gas per year. By simultaneously generating electricity and usable heat for heating purposes (local heating), the plant also makes an important contribution to relieving the strain on the grid and to regional security of supply with electricity and heat.
